That’s it, my first album Azuria was released on January 10th, 2025, I hope you enjoy it. If you haven’t listened to it yet, you can play it on my Youtube channel and on some major streaming platforms (Apple Music, Spotify, Soundcloud and Deezer). You can also support me by getting the album on Bandcamp!
I’m happy to close this chapter of my music life. I think this album is more like my color palette and I just need to go further into creativity.
The making of this album
This album was made entirely in my home studio using this gear:
- Laptop PC with Ableton 11
- Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 gen3 sound interface
- AT2050 microphone
- A pair of old Yamaha HS 50M
- Yamaha PSR E433 keyboard
I also used some free/libre and opensource software for the sound and visual creations:
- Virtual synthesizers:
- Vital
- Helm
- Dexed
- Godot Engine
- Blender
- Gimp
I started working on the album tracks back in 2021 right after discovering the virtual synth Vital. I’m impressed to realize that it’s my main choice of synth so far. I literally did every song of the album using at least one instance of this plugin. Almost all the bass sounds come from this synth and I did some drum sounds with it on Fly too.
I also tried vocoder plugins for the first time in the track Musique93. My favorite part of the track is at the end when the vocoder is blurred by the echo effect and the music kicks back progressively.
I used Ableton acoustic plugins for more natural strings, guitars and drums. The picked guitar string on Fly is actually one of those plugins.
For the rest, I just experimented with the plugins I have and I will continue to do so. I don’t feel the need for buying more tools for now, maybe some for mixing and mastering. I’m thinking now of a way to play my music outside so I might get some gear to do that.
Thank you for listening and see you soon.
